Last updated: 7 October 2026. This policy explains what GambleBetScout (“the site”, “I”) collects when you use gamblebetscout.com, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: as little as possible, and nothing that follows you around the web.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the operator of gamblebetscout.com. For anything about your data, write through the contact page.
What is collected and why
- Server logs. The web server records IP address, browser user agent, requested page, referring page and time. Purpose: security, abuse prevention and fixing errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. Logs are rotated and deleted automatically after a short period.
- Affiliate clicks. When you use a “Visit” link (/go/…), the site records the time, which operator, which page the click came from, the page language and the domain of the referring site. No IP address, no cookie and no identifier of you is stored with it. Purpose: knowing which pages are useful and reconciling affiliate reports. Legal basis: legitimate interest. The operator receives a referral code and a page code (for example “review-bovada”) that identify this site and the page, not you.
- Contact messages. If you write to me, the name, email address and message you send are emailed to my mailbox; the site itself stores nothing. Your IP address is included in that email for abuse prevention and used for one minute to stop repeated submissions. Purpose: answering you. Legal basis: your request and my legitimate interest in handling it. Messages are kept as long as needed to deal with them and deleted within 24 months at the latest, unless they document a complaint that is still open on the Shit List.
- Visit counter. The site counts page views with its own small script: page address, time, the domain of the site you came from, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), page language and, once Cloudflare is active, the country it reports. To count visitors without cookies it keeps a code made from your IP address and browser with a secret that changes every day and is then deleted, so the code cannot be turned back into your IP or linked across days. No IP address, browser string or cookie is stored. Purpose: knowing which pages are read. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Data is deleted after 35 days. If enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts visits without cookies and without storing IP addresses.
- Browser storage. The site may remember interface choices (for example an open tab or a filter) in your browser’s local storage. It contains nothing that identifies you and never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
What is not collected
No accounts, no newsletter, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no cookies for counting, no cross-site tracking and no sale of data. Fonts are served from this site, so loading a page does not contact Google or any other font provider. If any of this changes, this page is updated first.
Cookies
The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner. WordPress sets technical cookies only for logged-in administrators. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots.
Who processes data for me
Hosting: DigitalOcean (data centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands), managed with Laravel Forge. Network, security and analytics: Cloudflare, which may process requests in data centres outside the European Economic Area under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Each acts as a processor on my instructions and under its own data processing terms. I do not share data with operators, advertisers or data brokers.
Gambling sites you visit
When you leave this site through a link, the operator’s own privacy policy applies. Many of them ask for identity documents at some point; read their policy before you upload anything.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data about you, object to or restrict its processing, and receive a copy of it. Because the site stores so little, in most cases the only data I hold about you is a contact message. Write through the contact page and I will answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live.
Children
The site is for adults only (18+). It does not knowingly collect data from minors; if you believe a minor has written to me, tell me and I will delete the message.

Updates are published on this page with a new date.
