Why people look for Kalshi alternatives
Kalshi is the prediction market that chose to be regulated. The CFTC designated it as a contract market in 2020, you trade against other members rather than a house, and its fee formula is public. So why do people look for Kalshi alternatives?
The first reason is paperwork. Nothing works until you have photographed a government ID live in the app, and Kalshi may ask for proof of address, source of funds or, in the US, a Social Security number. If you want to trade without handing over documents, a regulated exchange is the wrong place. The second is cost. A taker pays 3.5 percent of the stake on a 50-cent contract, which is more than Polymarket charges on sports, and card deposits can cost another 2 percent. The third is access. Kalshi restricts some countries in its Member Agreement, and in the US the states are fighting back: in August 2026 the Ninth Circuit let Nevada enforce its gaming laws against Kalshi's sports contracts, and New Jersey has taken its case to the Supreme Court. Finally, there is no welcome bonus. The list below shows what else is available.
Questions about switching
What is the best alternative to Kalshi?
On my current scores, BetOnline (6.6/10). The table above shows exactly where it beats Kalshi and where it does not.
Why would I leave Kalshi?
Usually one of four things: your country got excluded, KYC got stricter, a withdrawal took longer than it should, or you just want a different bonus. None of those make the original a scam, they just mean it is time to compare.
How did you pick these alternatives?
Shared categories, shared coins, similar KYC policy and whether both have a sportsbook, then sorted by my score. Shit List sites never appear here, however similar they are.
