Telegram casinos explained: bots, Mini Apps, TON and what to check

How casino bots and Mini Apps work inside Telegram, why they run on TON (now Gram), custodial versus self-custodial wallets, what Telegram's own terms say about disputes, and the checks I run before depositing anywhere a chat holds the balance.

A Telegram casino is a gambling service you use inside the Telegram app, through a chat bot or a Mini App, usually funded with TON-based coins. Telegram supplies the interface and nothing else: its own terms say Mini App providers “operate independently of Telegram” and that disputes go to them. So the questions are the same as for any offshore casino, with two added risks: the balance often lives inside a chat, and the chat can vanish. This guide explains the mechanics, the coin side after Toncoin became Gram, the wallet choices, and what to check before you deposit.

Three different things get called a Telegram casino

The label covers three products, and most “best Telegram casino” lists mix them.

  • A bot casino. You send commands or tap buttons in a chat, and the bot runs the games and holds the balance.
  • A Mini App casino. A web app that opens inside Telegram and looks like a normal casino site. The bot is only the door.
  • A normal casino with a Telegram feature. A website that lets you sign in with Telegram, posts promo codes in a channel, or offers a companion bot.

The third kind is the most common among sites I have reviewed. Shuffle, Sportsbet.io and BC.Game offer Telegram as a sign-up option. Thunderpick links a bot from its esports page with the line “Bet from Telegram”. In all of these the company, the terms and the licence sit behind a normal website, which is the part you can check.

How a bot or Mini App casino works

Telegram’s developer documentation describes Mini Apps as JavaScript interfaces that “can be launched right inside Telegram” and “can completely replace any website”. They open from a bot’s menu button, an inline button, a direct link or the attachment menu. Payments for physical goods and services run through third-party payment providers, while Telegram’s own Stars are used for digital goods.

When a Mini App opens from certain buttons, Telegram passes it your basic profile: user ID, name, username and language code. That is why these casinos can skip a sign-up form. It is also why “no registration” does not mean “no data”: the operator knows your Telegram identity from the first tap.

Since early 2025 Telegram has also set the blockchain. Its guidelines for Mini Apps require apps with crypto features to use “exclusively” the TON blockchain and to connect wallets only through TON Connect. New projects had to comply from 21 January 2025 and existing apps on other chains had until 21 February 2025 to move. A casino Mini App that asks you to connect a MetaMask wallet is breaking Telegram’s rules, which makes it a candidate for removal.

TON, Gram and USDT on TON

TON (The Open Network) is the blockchain that grew up beside Telegram. On 15 June 2026 its native coin was renamed from Toncoin to Gram, ticker GRAM, after a community vote. The network kept its name. According to the governance proposal as reported by AMBCrypto, there was “no swap, bridge, claim, or migration”, and any service asking you to “convert TON to GRAM” is fraudulent. Casino cashiers have followed unevenly: Cloudbet’s fee page shows “GRAM”, Shuffle lists “GRAM/TON”.

Most of the stake money on TON is not Gram but USDT, which Tether issues on TON as a Jetton, TON’s token standard. That matters at the cashier. “USDT” on a deposit screen can mean Tron, Ethereum or TON. Sending on the wrong network can lose the deposit, and the USDT page explains how to read the network field.

Two technical points from the TON documentation are worth knowing:

  • Speed. Since 9 April 2026 mainnet runs with a block interval of about 400 ms, and target finalisation is about one second. Chain speed is not withdrawal speed: the operator’s approval queue is the slow part everywhere.
  • Deposit comments. Some services receive every user’s deposit at one shared address and tell users apart by a comment on the transfer. TON’s payment docs warn that deposits without the correct identifier “may be lost”. If a cashier shows a memo or comment field, copy it exactly.

Fees on TON are made of forwarding, compute and storage components set by the network’s configuration, so there is no single per-transfer figure to quote. What operators charge on top is a different number. On 7 October 2026 Cloudbet‘s fee table showed a withdrawal fee of 0.00191 for USDT on TON against 3.9 for USDT on Tron. The TON coin page lists every reviewed site that accepts it.

Custodial and self-custodial wallets inside Telegram

The wallet built into Telegram’s interface is Wallet, a third-party bot. Cointelegraph reported in November 2023 that Wallet chose a custodial model by default: users entrust their coins to a third party and do not hold their own keys. Wallet also offers TON Space, a self-custodial wallet launched in September 2023, where the recovery phrase stays on your device.

For gambling the difference is practical. If you fund a casino from a custodial wallet and withdraw back to it, two companies hold your money in turn, and either can freeze it. I have not read Wallet’s terms on gambling transactions, so I will not tell you what it does with them. What I can say is that a self-custodial address, in TON Space or any TON wallet whose phrase you hold, removes one of the two parties.

What Telegram does not do for you

Telegram’s Mini Apps terms are clear about the division of labour. The providers are “solely responsible” for what they offer, Telegram is “not affiliated” with them, and “any disputes must be resolved by contacting the SP directly”. Telegram keeps the right to restrict providers or switch features off.

The bot developer terms go further: a bot must not facilitate “illegal, pirated, regulated or questionable goods and services”, and breaking the terms can get a bot removed and made “partially or fully inaccessible”. Gambling is a regulated service almost everywhere, so a casino bot exists on terms that let Telegram remove it. Governments push in that direction too. In February 2026 Telegram agreed with the Philippine government to a “zero tolerance policy” on online gambling content, according to Vixio.

None of this is a reason to panic. It is a reason to treat a bot’s balance as something that can become unreachable for reasons that have nothing to do with the operator’s honesty.

The risks, in the order I weigh them

No checkable operator

A website has a footer, terms and, sometimes, a licence number you can look up. A bot often has a pinned message. If you cannot find a company name, a set of terms and a licence number that the regulator’s register confirms, you are depositing with an anonymous counterparty. The licence guide shows how to run the check in five minutes.

Custody inside the chat

In a bot casino, the balance is a number in the operator’s database, shown in a chat. There is no account page outside Telegram and often no email on file. If your Telegram account is lost or banned, the route back to that balance depends entirely on the operator.

Disappearing bots

A bot can be removed by Telegram, renamed, or abandoned by its owner, and the support chat goes with it. Keep screenshots of your balance and every transaction hash. Withdraw winnings instead of leaving them in the bot.

Look-alike bots

A bot username is the only address you have, and similar names are easy to register. Open the bot from a link on the operator’s own website, never from a group message or a direct message.

KYC still exists

“No registration” is not “no documents”. Operators behind Telegram casinos have the same anti-money-laundering obligations as their websites, and the same “at any time” clauses I quote in the no-KYC guide.

The paper trail behind some bots is thin

Thunderpick shows how a Telegram feature tells you nothing about the operator behind it. Its Anjouan licence is valid on the regulator’s validator, and the licence excludes the USA. Yet casino.guru rated it 2.9 “Very low” when I read it, with 11 of 22 complaints unresolved and a warning that it “doesn’t react to 3rd party complaints”. The bot is the same company, with the same record.

What to check before you deposit

  1. Find the operator’s website and open the bot from there.
  2. Read the terms: company name, licence number, restricted countries, and the clauses on verification and withdrawals.
  3. Look the licence up in the regulator’s register and match the company and the domain.
  4. Check the network on the deposit screen, and copy any memo or comment exactly.
  5. Withdraw to an address whose recovery phrase you hold, not to the wallet you funded from if that one is custodial.
  6. Run a small deposit and a small withdrawal first, and time it. The payout tests page shows how I log mine.
  7. If the games claim to be provably fair, check a round with the provably fair calculator; seeds work the same inside a Mini App.

Telegram features at sites I have reviewed

Site Telegram feature TON / Gram Licence I could verify
Thunderpick Betting bot linked from the site Not in its coin list Anjouan, validator “VALID”
Cloudbet Telegram bot listed among support channels GRAM and USDT on TON Curaçao CGA certificate, “Active”
Shuffle Sign-up with a Telegram account GRAM/TON deposits and withdrawals Curaçao CGA certificate, “Active”
Sportsbet.io Sign-up with Telegram GRAM Anjouan, validator “VALID”

None of these is a Telegram-native casino: the games and the account live on a website. No bot-only or Mini App-only casino has completed my review yet, so the Telegram casinos category lists none. When one does, it will need the same paper trail as any other site.

The short version

A Telegram casino is a bot or Mini App that puts a casino inside a chat. Telegram is the storefront, not the operator, and its terms send every dispute to the provider. Since 2025 crypto Mini Apps must use TON, whose coin has been called Gram since June 2026 with no swap needed. Check the operator behind the bot, hold your own keys, copy deposit memos exactly, and withdraw rather than store. If you want a coin-level view, read which coin to gamble with.

Questions people ask

What are Telegram mini-app casinos?

Web apps that open inside Telegram and work like a casino site, launched from a bot's menu button, a link or an inline button. Telegram describes Mini Apps as interfaces that "can completely replace any website". The operator is a third party; Telegram only hosts the interface.

Are Telegram casinos safe?

Telegram does not vet or stand behind them: its terms send every dispute to the provider and allow Telegram to remove bots. Safety depends on the operator, so look for a company name, published terms and a licence you can confirm in the regulator's register, and keep balances small.

Is the Telegram wallet safe for gambling?

Wallet, the bot built into Telegram, is custodial by default: a third party holds the coins. Its TON Space option is self-custodial, with the recovery phrase on your device. I have not read Wallet's terms on gambling, so I withdraw casino winnings to an address whose phrase I hold.

Do I need TON to play at a Telegram casino?

Not necessarily, but Telegram requires Mini Apps with crypto features to use the TON blockchain, so deposits are usually Gram (formerly Toncoin) or USDT on TON. Check the network on the deposit screen: USDT also exists on Tron and Ethereum, and the wrong network can lose the deposit.

What happened to Toncoin?

It was renamed Gram, ticker GRAM, on 15 June 2026 after a community vote. Balances and addresses did not change and no swap was needed; the ecosystem warned that any service asking you to convert TON to GRAM is fraudulent. Some casino cashiers now show GRAM, others still show TON.

Is there a Telegram casino no deposit bonus?

Some bots advertise them, but a bonus is only worth what its terms allow you to withdraw, and a bot without published terms gives you nothing to hold it to. No Telegram-native casino has completed my review yet, so I have no bonus terms to quote; the bonus math guide explains how to price one when you find it.
